Thyme and honey face mask recipe
Makes enough for 1 application
Ingredients:
1 tsp dried thyme leaves
1 tsp raw honey
¼ tsp tamanu oil
½ tsp French green clay
What to do:
Using an electric coffee grinder or traditional mortar and pestle, grind up the thyme leaves. Then sift them through a very fine mesh strainer. This should give you at least a half teaspoon of thyme powder.
Combine the thyme powder and French green clay in a small bowl to form a thick paste. Then stir in the raw honey and tamanu oil. If you have very oily skin, you can swap out the tamanu oil for another teaspoon of raw honey instead. If your skin is extremely dry, you can double up the amount of tamanu oil in this recipe.
Using your fingertips, apply the mask generously to your face and neck. The raw honey makes this mask very sticky so it won’t go on perfectly even and smooth. Leave it on for five to 10 minutes before rinsing it off with warm water and a facecloth. Rinse off any remaining residue with clean running water.
You can other domestic clays from your local pharmacy such as use kaolin or bentonite clay if you can’t find French green clay.
