Yuqing Zhang, Professor of Medicine and Public Health at Boston University, lead author of the study, said you only need to eat about half a cup of cherries for two days to reduce your risk of gout by 35%. That’s only 10 to 12 cherries a day! The professor further explained a way that you can lower your risk even more! When you take medications to lower uric acid levels and eat cherries, you can decrease in your risk by as much as 75%.
