Bananas are neutral and help balance your gut bacteria. Furthermore, because they’re loaded with magnesium and potassium, they can help reduce inflammation, which helps to calm bacterial inflammation. However, if you suffer from high blood sugar or diabetes, you should omit the banana.

Kale is packed with glucosinolates. When the microbes in your gut break it down, it release substances that reduce your risk of inflammation and certain cancers including colon, bladder, liver, breast, lung and stomach cancer. Kale is also high in vitamins A, C and K as well as folate.

Ginger is one of those superfoods that’s known to cure everything from cold and flu to an upset stomach. This is all thanks to its potent antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. In your gut, ginger helps fight bad bacteria while creating a healthy environment for the “good” bacteria to live.

It’s rich in the enzyme – glucose oxidase that produces hydrogen peroxide, which kills harmful bacteria living in your body. In addition, it has antimicrobial properties, which gives it the ability to fend off viruses too.
