Becca is truly a brand discovery for me this year; I kind of knew that I was going to love their sensational highlighters and once you get your hands on any of the infamous and buttery-smooth Shimmering Skin Perfectors – you realize right then and there that it is going to become just a gateway to many other seductive products that the brand offers. – Blog Post By: The Party Parrot Blog
Today I am going to give you a quick Becca run-trough, where I review four of my personal favorite make-up products from the brand and if you’re interested in how to transform your skin from dull to gorgeous – then just keep on scrolling!
Step 1: Prime, Girl Prime!
Once your skin is properly cleansed and moisturised, it is time to add some primer. What I love about Becca’s Backlight Priming Filter – is that it doesn’t just prime your skin before applying foundation, but it also gives you that beautiful glow from within kind of appearance.
The texture of Backlight Priming Filter is quite moussy, it is so lightweight that it almost feels like it has been whipped. This primer is neither sticky nor drying. As a matter of fact it feels quite comforting even on a very dry skin like mine. You only need one small pump to cover your entire face and my advice is to let it set for couple of minutes, before proceeding with foundation.
But my favourite part about this product is that it does give your skin that stunning and natural-looking pearly glow, which instantly makes you look more heatlhy and youthful. The glow is pretty subtle, so you can wear Backlight Priming Filter alone or underneath foundation – your skin is going to look amazing either way. Plus this product is infused with Vitamin E – which is an instant bonus in my book.
Step 2: Perfect
Once you’ve let your primer set and foundation is on, it is important to brighten the under-eye area. This is something I personally dedicate most of my make-up time to, because I do have some bad dark circles which have to be concealed unless I plan on starring in a Tim Burton’s movie.
So what I usually do to achieve a flawless under-eye colour (I assume you have moisturised with an eye cream already) is to use a good corrector and concealer. This is when Becca’s Under Eye Brightening Corrector comes into play; this product comes in one shade only but it is this very nice light peach colour with a hint of pink, which as you might know is perfect for defeating browns and purples in our dark circles.
It doesn’t just correct, it also illuminates almost as if you have used two separate products. When you look at Becca’s corrector, it almost has that iridescent light-reflecting touch to it. This corrector feels quite creamy which is good for a delicate application; I like applying this corrector with my fingers to really warm the product while gently patting under the eye.
Now if you have got some severe dark circles, you might want to use this product on top of a concealer – to perfect and brighten the eye. If you have got just some minor blueness, this alone might be your one stop solution as it brightens in a very flattering and natural-looking way.
Step 3: Add Colour
Once your complexion is perfected, you can add some blush. Blush in general is one of the first and most used make-up products in history and nothing beats a beautiful flush.
If you are new to Becca blushes, then I highly recommend checking “Flowerchild” out. It is a very nice peachy-pink colour with golden shimmer through it; this is also a mineral blush which means that it’s going to blend nicely and look uber natural on your cheeks. Flowerchild is one of those universal colours which is going to look amazing paired with any make-up look as well.
Step 4: Highlight
Now you might know that I am all about that J.Lo glow on my face and I haven’t tried a highlighting product which I liked more than Shimmering Skin Perfector.
I love these, they give your face that beautiful dimension which is so lovely both in real life and on photographs. I wear these every day, I might not have an eye shadow on – but my Moonstone or Opal are always there!
So as you might know, recently Becca came out with their limited edition Champagne Glow palette, which contains three of the brand’s limited edition highlighters including: Pearl, Champagne Pop and Blushed Copper. This palette was a great sell-out and you might still find it in store.
PS: Champagne Pop By Jaclyn Hill is now available at Becca SA
Areas of application: tops of cheekbones, cupid’s bow and tip of the nose.
So that’s it guys, I hope you have enjoyed my Becca favourites! I’m definitely pleased with all the products I have tried so far, these are amazing game-changers and I have noticed that I get a lot of compliments on the way my skin looks now that I use these.
