How do you stop itchy bites from itching?
I had planned a day to catch up on all my writing. Inspired, after the holidays, and I have loads of interesting topics to write on.
But, as I sat down to write, I began scratching, or should I say tearing apart my bites. Yes, a couple of nights ago we must have had a Dracula mosquito in our bedroom, and I woke up with numerous bites. It wasn’t the bites the worried as much as the fact that I can’t stop scratching them.
I sat and googled how to stop a bite from itching. Thankfully the easiest way is to clean them with Cider vinegar. I was fortunate enough to have some cider vinegar leftover from my detox. I poured it on cotton wool, wiped down all my sites, and guess what? Instant relief! Why I didn’t do this yesterday, I have no idea. Which brings me to the fact, that I have meant to share home remedies for everyday ailments for a while now. I If you have any home remedies to share with us, or our readers, please add them to the comment box below.
- Insomnia: A tried and tested remedy. Drop some lavender drops on your pillow, and rub a drop on your 3rd eye. If you still don’t manage to sleep, at least you can relax with the beautiful aroma.
- Period pain: Mix lavender and peppermint oil together. Just a few drops of each mixed into a carrier oil. I am not sure what helps more, whether it is the fact that you are rubbing and caring for your tummy, or the combination of the drops, but it works.
- Flu prevention. Tea tree is a natural antibiotic. In Autumn every year, I used to rub a tea tree oil mix onto our children’s feet, and put some Tea Tree into the humidifier. Touch wood, we managed to get through many winters without the common colds and flu.
- Stress. I highly recommend sipping on Chamomile tea. Not only is it delicious, but it is incredibly calming.
- Indigestion and nausea. Ginger does the trick. Peel and slice fresh ginger, and steep it in boiling water, and sip on it as need be.
- Sinusitis: Make a saline solution with salt and warm water, and sniff up as much as possible as required to clear your sinuses.
- Sunburn: Soak in a bath with a cup of Bicarb
- Athletes Foot: Soak your feet in a warm foot bath with crushed garlic. The bonus is that this should also prevent you from getting sick
- Cuts and grazes: Break open an aloe and rub the juice onto it
- Eczema; rub and cook with coconut oil
