Should you drain or pop a blister? Well, it all depends on the size. If the blister is smaller than the end of a pencil eraser, it’s probably better to leave it alone.
Anytime you open it, you run the risk of infection. If the blister is big or is in a place where it can easily get torn, you should probably drain it. Sterilize a needle or razor with alcohol or a flame and cut a hole just big enough to allow the fluid to drain out. Then, treat it with an antibiotic and put a gauze on it to keep the blister from refilling with fluid.
