I love kale chips. They are the best alternative to potato chips especially when you’re on a diet! They also make for a super healthy side or snack. What’s more, they are absolutely delicious!

Today, I want to share my nut-free, vegan, sugar-free, soy-free, grain-free, gluten-free recipe with you!

My favourite kale chips recipe

Serves: 2
Ingredients:

1/2 bunch fresh kale leaves
1/2 tbsp virgin organic olive oil or coconut oil
1 1/2 tbsp nutritional yeast
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1/4 tsp fine grain sea salt or pink Himalayan sea salt

Method:

Preheat your oven to 150 degrees Celsius.
Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
Remove the leaves from the stems of the kale. Roughly tear it up into large pieces. You can compost the stems, or freeze them for smoothies.
Wash and spin the leaves until thoroughly dry.
Add the kale leaves to a large bowl. Massage in the oil until all the nooks and crannies are coated.
Sprinkle on the spices and seasonings. Toss to combine.
Spread the kale out onto the prepared baking sheet in a single layer. Be sure not to overcrowd it.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, then rotate the pan and bake for another 15 minutes or until the kale firms up. The kale will look shrunken – that’s normal.
Cool the kale on the sheet for three minutes, then dig in! Enjoy them immediately as they lose their crispiness with time.
Repeat this process for the other half of the bunch.
