Three Habits That Aid Weightloss

I’ll be honest: I’m very impatient. When I shop online, I want my item to be delivered immediately. And, if I order at the drive-thru, I want to immediately collect it and leave. I also expect the same with weightloss.

If I get on a weightloss journey, I want to see results – fast! Last week as I was researching weight loss tips for my new post, I came across a fascinating study showing how rapid weight loss is actually key to permanent weight loss. Slow and steady usually wins the race, but most of us are not patient enough to finish the race.

After going through the study, I dug a little deeper on rapid weight loss. As a result, I came up with three habits that can help you wake up slimmer tomorrow! Will you lose 5 kg in the next 24 hours? Obviously not. But, if you take these steps today, you’ll definitely see results tomorrow. If you don’t believe me, then you need to try them out for yourself…

Weightloss habits for a slimmer you

1. Always shower before bed

That’s right! Sleep is part of the process that helps your body cool down. This is why you don’t sleep well when it’s hot and muggy. So, take a shower before bed. It will help you activate your body’s thermostat, which causes you to fall asleep faster. Better sleep means lower levels of cortisol, your stress hormone, which also happens to be a fat storage hormone. Cooling down also helps stimulate brown fat. This is the kind of fat you find at the back of your neck that helps your body burn more calories. Up to 275 in three hours, in actual fact! For additional fat-blasting benefits before bed, brew yourself a pot of green tea.

2. Stop snacking on “energy bars”!

Why don’t we just call them by their real names – calorie bars? There are four ways in which these sweet treats can make you gain weight fast. Firstly, they are packed with lots of whey, which can cause bloating, especially if you have lactose issues. Secondly, most of them contain soybeans, which sometimes causes digestive problems like cramping and bloating. Thirdly, manufacturers use a lot of chemicals when making these processed little bars, and studies show that processed foods are way more fattening than whole foods. And lastly, energy bars carry the health halo when they’re in fact just glorified candy bars. These snacks contain a minimum of 300 calories each – cut them out and you’re sure to feel leaner and meaner tomorrow.

3. Drink plant-protein smoothies

Plant-protein smoothies are the best way to get a fantastic dose of fat-busting nutrients. You can enjoy a protein smoothie for breakfast, or as a snack! It’s so quick and easy to mix one up. Thus, you shouldn’t buy smoothies from the supermarket because most of them contain ingredients you can’t even pronounce, which can be harmful to your health by causing bloating and inflammation. Instead, whip up your own smoothie. Try vegan protein, which will give you glorious fast-burning, hunger-squelching, muscle-building benefits – minus the bloat!
