I remember the battle of oats versus cereal as a child. And, I still experience it today with my kids. They prefer the sweet and sugary taste of Coco Pops and Frosties.

But because mommy know best, they have to succumb to the grains. The oatmeal recipe I’ll share with you today is not only abundant in vitamins, minerals, lipids and fibre, but contains Chia seeds – making it an even more healthier option. Enjoy!

 

Breakfast Oats Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2½ Cups Almond Breeze Original Almond Milk
  • 1 Cup raw oats
  • 2 tbsp Chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp Chopped roasted almondsChia-Oats-220px
  • Honey to taste
  • 1 Ripe banana sliced
  • 1 tbsp Toasted sunflower seeds
  • 50g Blueberries
  • Ground cinnamon

Instructions

Place oats in bowl, stir in the almond milk, Chia seeds & almonds.

Add honey to taste, stir well together, cover & chill overnight.

Taste for sweetness & check the consistently – if you would like it to be thinner, stir in a little more almond milk.

Divide between the bowls.

Top with sliced banana, then scatter sunflower seeds & blueberries.

Dust with ground cinnamon.

Tip: You can add a tablespoon of almond butter.
