Now that you’ve relieved and cleaned your body after your detox, you need to nourish it by eating the right foods. After all, “you are what you eat.” But most importantly, you need to be careful of what you eat after a detox. This is because, your body changes the way it absorbs nutrients.

But don’t fret. This is the perfect time to change from winter warming foods anyway to those that help your internal organs do their jobs more effectively and heal the body naturally. Over the next few days, I’ll be giving you some tips on how and what to eat after your detox.

Three post detox breakfast recipes

Today, I’ll be giving you three breakfast recipes that you can alternate as your body adjusts after your detox.

———————Recipe 1———————

Summer Chia Smoothie

½ Cup Almond Breeze Unsweetened Almond Milk
1½ Cups watermelon, cubed (seeds removed)
1 Cup strawberries, previously cleaned, chopped & frozen
1 Ripe banana, previously peeled, chopped & frozen
One squeeze of lemon juice
1 tbsp Chia seeds (soak in ¼ cup of water 15 minutes before use

Instructions

Blend all ingredients until smooth & creamy.
Add more almond milk if smoothie is too thick.
Add more frozen strawberries/ice to thicken.
Add more banana to sweeten smoothie.

Superfood Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1L water or 1/2 ice, 1/2 water
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 large banana (frozen for cold milkshake)
  • 3 T Honey/ agave/ maple syrup/ pitted dates to sweeten
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 vanilla pod
  • 5 brazil nuts
  • 1 tablespoon hemp protein powder
  • A handful goji berries
  • 1 tablespoon maca powder
  • A tablespoon of green powder
  • 3 tablespoons raw cacao powder/ beans/ nibs
  • 1 pinch Himalayan rock salt
  • 3cm wedge fresh aloe ferox
  • 1-2 tablespoons coconut oil

Blend everything in a blender. Pour into a flask and enjoy throughout the day.

———————Recipe 3———————

Frozen tropical bowl – Easy breakfast bowl

Ingredients

1 banana
2 yellow plums
1 nectarine
¼ cup of coconut milk
¼ cup of Almond Breeze almond milk
A sprinkle of coconut flakes
A teaspoon of honey
Fruit to decorate (suggested fruit sliced peaches, blueberries, grapes, coconut flakes, mint and chia seeds)

Method

Blend the frozen mango, banana, plums and nectarine with coconut and almond milk.
Add the coconut flakes and honey, and freeze for about 2 hours.
Plate and decorate with some cut up fruits such as some sliced peaches, blueberries, grapes, coconut flakes, mint and chia seeds.
